PositionDescription:
We are seeking a skilled Engineering Test Technician to support structural and environmental testing within a high‑performance laboratory environment. This role is based at the Sand Lake Road facility in Orlando, FL and reports to the Environmental Test Group Engineering Manager.
In this position, you will contribute to the setup and execution of environmental simulation tests supporting both R&D and production programs. Testing includes vibration, shock, and a variety of climatic exposures, all conducted in accordance with MIL‑STD and program‑specific requirements.
The ideal candidate possesses strong hands‑on mechanical aptitude, familiarity with electromechanical systems, and the ability to work safely around large test equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who enjoy hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and supporting mission‑critical testing for advanced systems.
Responsibilities:Set up, execute, and document environmental simulation tests, including vibration, shock, and climatic chamber testing.
Install, secure, and safely handle test hardware and instrumentation on environmental test equipment.
Operate and learn capabilities of test systems such as vibration shakers, shock machines, and climatic exposure chambers.
Follow all testing procedures and perform work in accordance with MIL‑STD, program, and customer requirements.
Support troubleshooting and basic maintenance of electromechanical test setups.
Work with engineering teams to ensure accurate test execution and reliable data collection.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab environment following established safety protocols.
Climb ladders, maneuver around large machinery, and perform physically active tasks as required.
Required Skills/Education:
Minimum of 5 years of experience using MS Office/Windows.
At least 5 years of hands‑on experience with hand tools including torque wrenches, T‑handles, and ratchets.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to obtain an ATF Explosives License.
Physical capability to climb ladders and navigate large test setups.
Ability to learn and understand electromechanical principles and basic sensor signal behavior.
Strong interest in hands‑on testing, mechanical evaluation, or laboratory work.
Preferred / DesiredSkills:
Experience using powered tools (electric or pneumatic).
Prior work as a test technician in an aerospace environmental testing lab or equivalent.
Strong mechanical and/or electromechanical aptitude with instrumentation exposure.
Hands‑on experience with vibration shakers, shock machines, and environmental/climatic chambers.
Familiarity with vibration control software and PID temperature controllers.
Current ATF Possessor License.
