Qualifications
  • Florida PE License required, or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • A minimum of 8 years of state Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). design experience required;
    Florida DOT experience highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of state DOT highway design project management experience required;
    Florida DOT experience highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Micro Station, ORD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar CAD software.
Role Description /Duties
  • Manage highway design projects to ensure successful project execution (quality, schedule, and budget).
  • Serve as liaison between clients, design teams, subconsultants, agencies, contractors, and the public.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules.
  • Monitor progress toward deliverable schedules and prepare progress reports.
  • Assist in development of scopes of service for highway design projects.
  • Prepare and/or review construction plans, reports, technical specifications, estimates, and other contract documents for highway design projects.
  • Provide technical assistance in resolving design problems.
  • Review and supervise the work produced by staff for quality assurance.
  • Assist with preparation of project invoices.
  • Assist with the marketing of the firm to establish new clients and enhance relationships.
  • Participate in the preparation of project proposals, presentations, and public meetings.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective time management.

  • High level of discretion to manage confidential information.
  • Problem-solving attitude.
  • Strong work ethic.
