Project Engineer - Generator Services

A Snapshot of Your Day

You bring a passion for organizing, preparing, and supporting complex service projects on power plant generators. You have demonstrated a strong ability to prioritize and organize. You understand complex technical issues and communicate effectively to all team members.

Your responsibilities will include attending project planning meetings, supporting Generator Service field engineers. You will support work package development, technical reviews, schedule creation, and tool ordering. You will have opportunities to work on development projects and procedure improvement.

• Provide project engineering oversight for major turbine generator repair projects and manage maintenance.

• Work integrally with Product Line Managers, Marketing, and Technical Services managers to identify and develop projects.

• Perform project risk assessments and develop detailed work instructions for completion of contract work scopes.

• Develop and use schedules which provide clarity of objectives to customer and Siemens and permit adjustments to achieve desired commitments.

• Direct involvement in tooling ordering, tooling improvements, and development projects to meet product line needs.

• Use Siemens Energy information systems necessary to be effective.

• BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred.

• 5+ years of experience in field service. Experience level may very. All qualified candidates encouraged to apply regardless of experience. Compensation considerations aligned to experience level.

• Working knowledge of large electrical apparatus like generator inspection, testing, generator rewinds and repairs.

• Organizational skills, planning, attention to detail and safety culture.

• 10% domestic travel

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers .

• Working within a specialized team and in an Agile environment where you can question existing approaches, come up with new ideas and drive these to a solution.

• Regular interaction with stakeholders from various organizations including engineering, QA, district offices, and management.

• Training and specialization are available to you at any time. You are encouraged to provide your training interests.

Gas Services

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
