Environmental Engineer, Water Engineer
I’m supporting a well-established, specialist water engineering consultancy that delivers complex water resources, water supply, and reuse projects across Florida. This is a great opportunity for a Water Resources Engineer who wants to work on meaningful, long-term infrastructure programmes and develop into a senior technical or project leadership role.
The roleYou’ll be involved in planning and delivering water resources and water supply projects that support growing communities across Florida. The work is varied and technically interesting, spanning traditional water supply, reuse, conservation, and integrated water management programmes.
You’ll work as part of multidisciplinary teams alongside engineers, scientists, and planners, contributing to studies, modelling, and design work that informs major infrastructure decisions.
Key responsibilities- Support and deliver water resources, water supply planning, and reuse projects across Florida
- Contribute to water resources studies, feasibility assessments, and long‑range water supply planning
- Undertake water demand and supply analyses, alternatives evaluations, and technical documentation
- Apply hydraulic, hydrologic, and hydrogeologic modelling to support infrastructure planning and design
- Support planning and design of assets such as pipelines, pump stations, channels, storage facilities, treatment systems, well fields, and recharge systems
- Prepare technical reports and calculations to support planning and regulatory processes
- Collaborate closely with other disciplines and project teams
- Occasional travel within Florida may be required
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- 6 to 12 years’ experience in water resources or water supply projects
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Experience contributing to water supply planning, demand management, or multi‑benefit water projects
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with clients and internal teams
- Ability to think critically and develop practical, defensible technical solutions
- Comfortable presenting technical information to groups
- Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Experience with GIS and water modelling tools such as Water
GEMS, Info Water, Info Works, InfoSWMM, or similar - Exposure to integrated water planning, One Water approaches, or reuse programmes
- Work exclusively on water‑related projects with real public impact
