The Advance Engineer (mechanical focus) will provide technical expertise necessary to design, develop and implement manufacturing systems, processes and tooling required to support manufacturing and fabrication of quartz crystals, frequency control products and spectrum control products.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Maintains various manufacturing processes which include, but not limited to welding / joining, soldering, lead forming, etc.
- Uses engineering tools and statistical concepts to maintain and improve processes.
- Using Lean manufacturing techniques to improve material flow and to reduce COGS.
- Participates in collaborative engineering on new designs ensuring compliance to customer prints regarding materials used and finishes.
- Suggests mechanical design methods for machining, plating, joining, plating, etc. ensuring compliance to applicable requirements.
- Helps manage new component requirements for electronic and mechanical components.
- Generation of production level documentation and procedures.
- Specifies and initiates purchase of manufacturing tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Plans, specifies, and justifies capital equipment expenditures .
- Lead product and/or process improvement teams.
- Works closely with cross-functional engineering groups performing concurrent engineering.
- Mentors, trains, and supports electrical engineering interns by providing guidance on mechanical engineering practices and work assignments, and utilizing interns as needed to support project objectives.

- Hands on position requiring interaction among multiple disciplines.
- Previous experience with manufacturing of hand assembled soldered components preferred
- Familiarity in Microsoft Office Applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point is required.
- Proficiency in Solid Works is preferred
- Solid Works Simulation knowledge is preferred.
- Use of AutoCAD, Minitab and Microsoft AX is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cohesivity in a team environment.
- Familiarity with CNC machining
- Familiarity with other machining: lathe, wire EDM, etc.
- Familiarity with various electroplating materials (nickel, silver, etc.)
- Proficient with CNC programming via Master Cam is preferred
- Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University.
- 3 - 5 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing company.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as required.
- Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, machine controls, and measuring instruments.
- Work is performed in a combination of office and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to safely climb, descend, and work from ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms at verifying heights.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, fumes, and related by-products.
