Position: IRST Legion SW Engineering Associate Manager / Embedded / Orlando, FL

Overview

You will be an Engineering & Technology (E&T) Manager in the Orlando Software Engineering Department. This role is responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, code and unit test, and hardware/software integration and verification. The individual will develop embedded software in C++ and Linux operating system in an Agile environment using JIRA, Git and Confluence.

The individual will need to apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Managing the development of C++ code
  • Software requirement definition, design, code, test, integration, and verification activities for simulation software.
  • Managing and developing the team
  • Providing technical coaching and mentoring, work assignments, employee career development, continuous ongoing feedback, and being their employees advocate in opportunity discussions.
  • Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities
  • Coordinating employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessments, salary planning, recognition/disciplinary actions, and engineering competency development.
  • Supporting program development, execution of program requirements, adherence to engineering development processes, promoting customer focus, and serving as the technical conscience for their program
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related sciences
  • Implementation and Verification & Validation testing
  • Familiarity with C++
  • Experience with software design
  • Must be a U.S. citizen – this position requires the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance

Work Schedule and Location

This position reports into the Orlando, Florida site and is performed onsite full‑time. Working hours are 4×10 hour day with 3 days off per week. Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to employees.
