A Snapshot of Your Day

A railcar specialist oversees the performance of a company's railcar fleet. The Rail Specialist will support the execution team in managing all rail operations and ensures that a high quality of safe, on-time transportation service is rendered. Communicates with other Managers to work as a team to ensure quality service. The successful candidate is expected to be a self-starter and multitasker who works well under pressure and follows through on tasks.

We are looking for a strong team member who leads by example and keeps the team informed of changes.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and maintenance shops to maintain uninterrupted railcar operations.

  • Coordinate heavy‑duty railcar moves and serve as a primary liaison with railroad companies.

  • Monitor fleet performance, identify operational issues, and implement corrective actions.

  • Analyze data to uncover trends, improve efficiency, and reduce operational costs.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts by refining processes and operational strategies.

  • Provide on‑call support for emergencies or significant incidents involving the rail fleet, and travel to job sites or rail sidings as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with railroad safety rules, operating policies, and FRA regulations.

  • Deliver excellent customer service while managing vendor and service‑provider relationships.

  • Demonstrate initiative by proactively seeking out work, completing tasks, and following up on outstanding items.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, analytical, or transportation‑related field.

  • 8 years of experience working with railcars, heavy‑duty railcar moves, and railroad company interactions.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and presentation communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and computer skills, including intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators.
