Description:
You will be the Mechanical Engineering Deputy Design Lead supporting Next Generation Integrated Air and Missile Defense programs. Our team is responsible for developing the kill vehicle technologies and capabilities for follow-on upper tier missile programs. You will be responsible for the development of the gimbal section assembly supporting the program in coordination with other Lockheed Martin business areas. These next generation missile systems perform a critical role to the growing complex advanced threat mission space supporting hypersonic defeat and Golden Dome for America.
The kill vehicle will enable next generation infrared seekers, divert and attitude control, integration avionics, and communication systems. What You Will Be Doing:
As the Mechanical Engineering Deputy Design Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the Integrated Product Team in creating detailed designs, layouts, and drawings for various components and subassemblies. You will play a key role in developing and generating CREO layouts, detailed drawings, and design documentation, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams. Your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles
* Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM
* Leading the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, optics, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence
* Managing drawing releases, answering CRs, generating CN's, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews
* Performing design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, optical performance, and structural/thermal benefits
* Interfacing directly with a optical and sensor manufacturers to ensure product integrity in accordance with design requirements, performance, and test parameters, as well as design reviews and deliverables are achieved on schedule Why Join Us

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in an Engineering related field The preferred candidate shall have a sound Engineering / Technical foundation and be able to grasp complex issues quickly. Skilled at creating and releasing part and assembly models and detailed drawings using Creo and Windchill. Experience creating drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.100 standards. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5, including precision calculations for optical tolerancing.
Capable of performing optical design, tolerance analysis, and testing, as well as driving supplier execution. Demonstrated build and troubleshooting of integrated optical systems. Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic, inclusive, team environment Limited Travel as necessary Proficiency of Adobe Acrobat, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Detail and process oriented.
