Basic Qualifications
- Candidate must have a current final secret security clearance with investigation within 5 years and be able to maintain Special Program Access Clearance (PAR).
- Strong systems engineering background.
- Willingness to travel to support mission requirements.
- Prior experience delivering military pilot academics and simulator training, familiar with current instructional techniques and delivery methods.
- Operational experience with advanced sensor systems such as NVS, LANTIRN, Helmet Mounted Cueing, and the latest weapons inventory.
- In‑depth knowledge of military publications and an understanding of fourth and/or fifth‑generation aircraft systems.
- Experience interacting with multiple functional areas and diverse personnel.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, strong oral & written communication, solid organization, and a high desire for customer satisfaction.
- Willingness to support flexible work hours to align with customer operational schedule.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Experience interfacing with customers at military locations.
- Experience with F‑35 pilot training curriculum.
- Familiarity with F‑35 program requirements and system knowledge.
- F‑35 Full Mission Simulator experience.
- Familiarity with the F‑35 ALIS program.
- Currently possess F‑35 Program special access.
- 1,000+ hours of fighter flight time in fourth and/or fifth‑generation fighter aircraft.
- Former Instructor Pilot (IP).

We are offering a Flight Instructor Senior Staff position for the F‑35B/C, supporting the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Navy at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan.
This role is foreign assignment and includes long‑term deployment contingent upon successful completion of required on‑the‑job training at Lockheed Martin training locations.
Responsibilities- Instruct flight procedures in the Pilot Training Devices and Full Mission Simulators according to the approved pilot training syllabus.
- Operate Instructor Operating Stations (IOS) and serve as a Subject Matter Expert for all pilot training.
- Implement and support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs, and policies as directed.
- Comply with site security and access control procedures per F‑35 program and customer procedures.
- Sanitize all classified media (circuit cards, disk storage devices, etc.) in accordance with established F‑35 and customer procedures.
- Collaborate with other members of the Lockheed Martin training teams on site to fulfill F‑35 training objectives.
- Work rotating shifts and be prepared to work in excess of 40 hours per week.
Relocation and housing assistance is available. Accompanied status is available for qualifying dependents, falling under the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) while on overseas assignment.
The OCONUS locale is Iwakuni, a city on Honshū island in Japan, offering an engaging cultural environment and access to U.S. base facilities.
