Asphalt Plant Testing Technician – Orlando, Florida

Intertek, a nationally recognized testing lab (NRTL) and leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is actively seeking an Asphalt Plant Testing Technician to join our Professional Services Industries Inc. (Intertek‑PSI) team in Orlando, FL. This role offers a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry.

• Perform field inspections and construction materials testing to ensure conformance with construction plans and specifications.
• Prepare inspection daily reports and testing data sheets.
• Operate testing equipment and conduct tests (soil, concrete, asphalt, etc.), analyze results, and report findings.
• Work with drawings, specifications, and diagrams to guide testing and observations.
• Make detailed observations and offer limited interpretation of results.
• Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results.
• Operate a calculator to compute mathematical test results.
• Communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
• Adhere to safety practices and policies to protect yourself and others.

• Florida CTQP Asphalt Plant Testing Technician (Level 1 & 2) required.
• Effective written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
• External or regional certifications may be required.
• Basic math, calculator, and computer skills.
• Ability to read and interpret work plans.
• Availability for off‑shift and overtime as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.

• Lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds (occasionally more with assistance).
• Receive detailed information via oral communication.
• Kneel, squat, and work outdoors in adverse weather (hot and cold).
• Walk and stand for long periods; climb occasionally.

• High‑school diploma or GED.
• Florida CTQP Roadway Levels 1 & 2 preferred.
• Additional certifications (ACI/ICC/FDOT‑CTQP) highly preferred.
