Job Summary
Lockheed Martin (Missiles and Fire Control) is seeking an experienced Guidance and Control (GNC) Engineer to join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting complex contracts and IRADs.
What You Will Be Doing- Design, develop, and deploy embedded algorithms that perform inertial tracking, inertial navigation and/or sensor fusion
- Develop, verify, and validate complex models and simulations utilizing match filters, convolutional neural networks, and other techniques to detect targets of interest
- Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments, and verify system and subsystem level requirements
- Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities that support ground and flight test efforts, including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities
- Join small teams of engineers and algorithm developers on various programs at different stages of product development
- Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers
- BS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or a similar STEM degree
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Secret clearance required at start; must be a US Citizen
- Experience leading technical multi‑disciplinary teams and briefing customers
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and C++
- Strong background in software and RF tracking
- Experience with simulation and test environments such as 6-DOF IFS, HWIL, flight test, etc.
- Solid foundation in linear algebra, dynamics, coordinate frame transformations, and state estimation techniques
- Relevant experience or exposure to Navigation Algorithm Development, including inertial navigation, strapdown navigation, attitude and velocity keeping, advanced GPS signal processing, magnetic navigation, star‑tracking, visual navigation, covariance analysis, transfer alignment with a host platform, boresight/calibration modeling and estimation, inertial sensor selection, and performance modeling
- Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real‑time performance requirements
- Experience with RF sensors
- Ability to be SAP‑briefed
This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a US Citizen. Clearance level:
Secret with investigation or CV date within 5 years.
This position is in Orlando, Florida.
Schedule4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
