Traffic​/Engineer

Traffic/ITS Engineer – Florida & Puerto Rico

You will support the development of plans, specifications, and estimates for intelligent transportation systems, traffic signal design, traffic studies, and other traffic engineering work tasks. You will apply your expertise to large-scale infrastructure projects, creating innovative solutions that address future transportation demands and support decarbonization initiatives.

• Develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates for ITS and traffic engineering projects.
• Conduct traffic operational analysis such as traffic signal warrants, pedestrian control system analysis, and traffic signing and pavement marking design.
• Design ITS device placement and communication plans for Florida arterial, interstate, and limited access corridors.
• Participate in FDOT design‑bid‑build and design‑build projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer License in the State of Florida, or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in traffic operational analysis including traffic signal warrants, traffic signal and pedestrian crossing control system analysis, traffic signing and pavement marking analysis and design, ITS analysis and design.
• Strong technical writing and oral communication skills.
• Design experience with departments of transportation, planning or transit agencies is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for site visits.
• Knowledge and experience using CADD/Micro Station is a plus.

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in the design of ITS system construction plans for ITS device placement and communications on Florida arterial, interstate, and limited access corridors.
• Experience in FDOT design‑bid‑build projects and design‑build projects.
• The right balance of leadership, technical skills, and experience serving internal and external clients.
