The OpportunityBlack & Veatch is seeking an exceptional professional to join our Infrastructure Advisory organization as a Senior Specialist to deliver various operations and maintenance related projects for power generation assets. You will be part of a team focused on lifecycle management of assets, helping clients optimize use and life of their assets.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Use your Operational and Maintenance experience to evaluate conventional and renewable technologies and develop decommissioning and separation planning for retired client assets.
- Deliver innovative solutions addressing client challenges using knowledge of power generation assets, condition assessments, outage planning and management, development of procedures and specifications, and contract support.
- Work on small to large multi-facility asset projects primarily in the US, including travel up to ~20% of time for site assessments and inspections.
- Grow skills, expand professional network, and shape a rewarding career path aligned with your aspirations.
- Provide technical consulting on new and existing Power Generation EPC, Modifications & Upgrades, and O&M projects.
- Collaborate with Clients and Solution Project Managers on asset assessment and decommissioning projects.
- Support development of new contracts with the O&M Solution.
- Develop outage management and process procedures for clients.
- Assist Solution Project Managers to develop proposals and scopes of work and create fee estimates.
- Lead preparation of reports (including assessment studies), presentations, and other deliverables. Manage budget, schedule, and quality requirements; contribute to quality reviews.
- Coordinate with team members and subject matter experts to ensure high-quality deliverables and successful outcomes.
- Proactively develop knowledge in power generation O&M and mentor colleagues in latest technology and processes.
- 15 years of experience as a Plant Engineer with maintenance and operations repair and replacement of conventional boilers, HRSGs, turbines, generators, BOP, and electrical/controls equipment.
- Experience with conventional power generation, Simple and Combined cycle gas turbines (SCGT/CCGT), and solid fuel handling.
- Power Plant Operations & Maintenance processes, construction, outage, startup, and routine field experience.
- Outage management and planning, including writing technical Power Plant Outage reports.
- Power Plant O&M and Capital budget planning and monitoring.
- Experience with regulatory and environmental requirements for O&M and Outage planning.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Bachelor of Arts or Science in business, technology, or engineering or relevant business experience.
- Minimum of 7 years related work experience.
- Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records, etc.) where applicable by law and regulation.
Certifications related to area of expertise, where applicable, preferred.
