Senior Structural Engineer with ten to fifteen years of experience is sought for our Orlando, Florida office. This role is challenging and rewarding within a dynamic, progressive firm. The successful individual will work closely with our business development team and other discipline leaders in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing and business development. The position provides an opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multim discipline office, and to work directly with clients providing consulting services.

The ideal candidate has experience designing steel, concrete, and masonry commercial/institutional, federal and industrial buildings, both in new and existing construction, utility infrastructure, roadways, and erosion control measures, and coordinating multifaceted projects. • Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of commercial & industrial projects.
• Design steel, concrete, and masonry commercial/institutional, federal and industrial buildings for new and existing construction.
• Experience with light gauge steel and timber is a plus.
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Lead design team efforts.
• Manage project team for budget and schedule control.
• Develop fee and qualification-based proposals.
• Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide well‑coordinated, high‑quality structural drawings.
• Be able to multi‑task and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
• Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
• Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of marketing databases and proposal resources.
• Conduct marketing/business development activities.
• Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
• Ability to travel.
• Work closely with other Coffman offices, such as Raleigh, Atlanta structural groups.
• B.S. degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE).
• 10 to 15 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience with computer software programs and analysis systems (e.g., RISA, AutoCAD, Revit, RamSS, E‑tabs, Enercalc).
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and time‑management skills.
• Project management experience and/or certifications.
• Desire to lead inter‑disciplinary projects and project teams.
• Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus.
• Active local industry involvement is a plus.

• Salary determined based on qualifications and relevant experience.
• Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
• Competitive end‑of‑year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance.
