Role description
Arcadis is looking for a Wastewater Process Project Engineer to join our Resilience Water Team in Orlando, Florida. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the growth of our water practice in Florida, while engaging on regional and national wastewater projects.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership and technical knowledge to develop our design team.
- Lead project tasks in planning, design, permitting and construction of wastewater or reclaimed water facilities; prepare construction documents, permits and oversee construction.
- Lead preparation of engineering calculations and analyses; utilize modeling software (e.g., Bio Win).
- Manage and lead capacity and facility evaluations, including master and facility plans for wastewater systems.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and drafting staff.
- Collaborate with national wastewater practice leaders to support technical alignment and share best practices.
- Engage in professional organizations and internal research on emerging wastewater technologies.
- Work with project and area managers to provide solutions, prepare proposals and presentations, and develop project scopes and budgets.
- Travel as required for project meetings, site visits, and construction oversight.
- At least 8 years of experience in water or wastewater process mechanical design.
- Experience leading design projects and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Environmental Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida (or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months).
- Primary focus on the water/wastewater municipal market.
- Experience with design, permitting and construction of wastewater processes in Florida.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering.
- Active participation in regional or national professional associations.
You should have strong written and oral communication skills, excellent technical writing, and experience reviewing project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, permit applications, RFIs and as‑built drawings. Client relationship skills and a proven record of delivering engineering projects that meet client expectations are valued.

Nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO accrue annually. Salary range: $80,000–$130,000 per year.
