* You will be the System Safety Engineer  SSE  Sr for the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control team  Our team is responsible for ensuring the safety of products developed and sold to customers, with a focus on protecting the warfighter

** What You Will Be Doing*
* As the System Safety Engineer  SSE  Sr, you will be responsible for performing hazard analyses and recommending safety features to mitigate or eliminate hazards in system design, software, training, and procedures  You will work independently to develop and implement system safety programs, with a focus on supporting the Air Dominance Strike Weapons Program Area

Your responsibilities will include:

- Developing hazard analyses and safety assessments

- Analyzing and recommending safety criteria in system design and procedures

- Preparing and delivering technical presentations and documentation

- Coordinating and leading System Safety Working Group meetings

- Reviewing specifications and design changes for adverse impacts to system safety

- Participating in accident investigations and identifying corrective actions

MUST BE A U S  CITIZEN   This position is located at a facility that requires special access  The selected candidate must have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

* Basic Qualifications:

*
* - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an engineering discipline

- Experience developing and implementing a System Safety Program IAW MIL STD 882

- Developing and evaluating system safety requirements

- Familiarity with implementing a Software Safety Program IAW AOP 52 and DoD guidelines

- Working knowledge of MIL STD 882 and its associated analyses

- Strong written and oral communication skills

- Ability to make formal presentations to large groups

- Interacts well in a team atmosphere with engineers, suppliers, program managers and customers

- Active Secret security clearance with current 6 year background check

** Desired

Skills:

*
* - Experience supporting independent government Safety Review Boards

- Knowledge of Human Factors Engineering

- Familiarity with missile and launcher systems

- Model based engineering knowledge

- Experience with DOORS requirements application

- Candidate should be a self starter capable of performing tasks with little direction

- Effective analytical problem solving skills, the ability to perform detail oriented work with a high degree of accuracy

- Able to learn and work with System Safety specific software tools

** Security Clearance Statement:
** This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration

** Clearance Level:
** Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

** Work Schedules:
** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees   Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed   These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits

** Schedule for this Position:
** 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
