Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Partner with senior technical leadership to master advanced mold design methods for optical manufacturing
• Apply proprietary mold design methodologies linking material selection, lens curvature, and manufacturing parameters
• Lead the design and development of complex molds for precision glass lens production
• Drive initiatives enabling production of larger-diameter molded lenses, including feasibility studies and validation
• Generate detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation
• Analyze mold performance data and implement design improvements
• Provide technical leadership in resolving complex molding issues
• Mentor engineers to build internal capability in mold-design disciplines
• Support new product introduction through innovative mold design aligned with optical requirements

The Successful Applicant

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 7+ years of mechanical design experience, ideally within precision manufacturing, tooling, or mold design
• Demonstrated success leading technical development projects
• Strong analytical, CAD, and problem-solving skills (Solid Works, Creo, or similar)
• Deep understanding of materials science, thermal management, tolerance analysis, and GD&T
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
