- Support products throughout the full product lifecycle, including prototyping, testing, manufacturing release and sustaining engineering
- Partner closely with electrical engineering teams to integrate electronic assemblies and board layouts into mechanical designs
- Participate in production support activities, troubleshooting and manufacturing problem resolution
- Lead and execute engineering change activities including ECNs, deviations and configuration management
- Assess design changes for manufacturability, quality, regulatory and risk impacts
- Support design reviews, prototype builds and first article activities
- Work directly with suppliers, manufacturing teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful product introduction
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and change management processes
- Support thermal considerations and enclosure integration for electronic assemblies
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Approximately 5+ years of hands-on mechanical product development experience
- Strong experience designing:
- Plastic molded components
- Cast and machined parts
- Electronic enclosures and assemblies
- Precision mechanical systems
- Experience working in fast-paced product development environments where engineers wear multiple hats
- Strong CAD experience, preferably Solid Works
- Experience supporting products through manufacturing release and production
- Ability to work cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, electrical engineering and supply chain teams
- Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
- Comfortable working onsite in a highly interactive engineering environment
- Strong attention to detail, ownership and follow-through
- Medical device or other regulated product development experience
- Experience with:
- Risk management
- Design FMEA / Process FMEA
- ECNs and change control
- ISO 13485, ISO 14971 or similar quality systems
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Background working with electronic packaging or thermal considerations
- Experience balancing product usability, aesthetics and manufacturability
- Fully onsite role
- Small, collaborative engineering team
- High visibility and direct interaction with engineering leadership
- Fast-paced product development environment with significant variety in day-to-day work
