Description
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire control is looking for an experienced mechanical engineer to support the SNIPER sensor program.
Responsibilities- Generate complete, release‑ready engineering documents (drawings, BOMs, assembly parts lists) for fabrication and procurement.
- Perform tolerance stack up and fit analyses to ensure manufacturability and reliability of mechanical components.
- Conduct design reviews, incorporate feedback, and secure formal engineering release approvals.
- Build BOMs, create parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM.
- Coordinate the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, optics, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence, including occasional travel for site visits.
- B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant industry.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and complex system‑level tolerance analysis.
- Proficient in Computer Aided Design (PTC CREO preferred).
- Experience generating engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Opto‑Mechanical Design Experience.
- Leadership experience, leading tasking and decision making over small or large teams.
- Ability to guide major projects to completion and engage with senior personnel on significant matters, including multi‑functional and multi‑site teams.
- Ability to lead investigative efforts and report status to senior personnel.
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret
Other Important InformationAbility to work remotely:
Part‑time remote telework; employee will work part of their schedule remotely and part onsite at a Lockheed Martin facility.
Schedule:
4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
