Overview
Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) designs, develops, and delivers advanced technologies worldwide. The role supports the F-35 Training and Logistics program and supplier quality across the United States and international locations.
RoleAs a Procurement Quality Engineer, you will be the focal point for coordinating quality and technical performance of deliverables from major subcontractors and suppliers. Responsibilities include executing PQE tasks, supporting suppliers, participating in supplier test events, and ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions.
ResponsibilitiesCo‑coordinate all efforts to assure quality and technical performance of deliverables, assist with supplier test events at device installations, manage daily interfacing with suppliers, conduct field engineering activities, and support weekly reporting.
TravelUp to 50% travel to domestic and international customer sites for supplier test events at full mission simulator, weapons loading trainer, and ejection seat maintenance trainer installations.
Basic Qualifications- Technical Engineering Degree or equivalent
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Strong understanding of engineering requirements and drawings
- High energy, self‑starting, team player with goal orientation
- Ability to identify and document supplier quality deficiencies and perform root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical inspection methods
- Basic understanding of special processes and interfacing with suppliers on a daily basis
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Multi‑tasking ability to meet deadlines and support all supplier quality field engineering activities
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, for reporting and interfacing with suppliers, quality program management, engineering, and customer representatives
- Source inspection and surveillance at suppliers
- Experience with tactile panels, training devices, and on‑site installations
- Performing First Article Inspections to AS9102 requirements
- Strong understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Basic understanding of SAP and P2P business systems
- Experience with managing major subcontractors and government customers
Government security clearance required. Position requires U.S. citizenship and a Secret clearance level.
