Crystal Process Engineering Technician

Position Summary:
The Crystal Process Engineering Technician supports the Crystal Engineering team by performing technical tasks related to crystal testing, equipment maintenance, process evaluation, and documentation. This role requires hands-on involvement with multiple disciplines and contributes to ensuring the efficiency and reliability of crystal production processes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Test various crystal products (i.e:
Filter crystals, discrete, monolithic, MRW versions as well as round blank crystals. - Repairs crystal process equipment and ensures equipment uptime.
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks on key crystal processing equipment like vacuum systems, pumps, compressors, etc.
- Performs screening and qualification processes such as G-sensitivity, phase noise, vibration, shock, thermal shock, etc.
- Creates and updates production documentation and/or procedures assigned.
- Updates production level equipment and test systems as required
- Performs data collection and work towards statistical evaluation of processes

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Hands-on role requiring collaboration across multiple disciplines.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with various hand tools.
- Understanding of vacuum pumps, compressors, and related system preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cohesivity in a team environment
- Experiences performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and process data collection
- Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license.
- Associates degree or technical certification in Engineering technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
- 1-3 years of technical experience is desired.
- Hands-on experience in crystal manufacturing, semiconductor processing, or precision equipment operation is highly preferred.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50lbs.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as required.
- Manual dexterity to operate hand tools, machine controls, and measuring instruments.
- Ability to safely climb, descend, and work from ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms at verifying heights.
- Work is performed in a combination of office and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to chemicals, fumes, and related by-products.
