Description:

You will be the Mechanical Engineering Design Sr for the Future Terminal Interceptor capability development team. Our team is responsible for developing key technologies to support the follow-on upper tier missile program to THAAD. The next generation missile system will play a critical role to our Warfighter's ability to defeat the growing complex threats. The vehicle will be enabled by the next generation seekers, controls, avionics, and communications subsystems.

What You Will Be Doing:

As the Mechanical Engineering Designer, you will be responsible for supporting the Integrated Product Team in creating detailed designs, layouts, and drawings for various components and subassemblies. You will play a key role in developing and generating CREO layouts, detailed drawings, and design documentation, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles

* Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM

* Coordinating with the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, optics, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence

* Managing drawing releases, answering CRs, generating CN's, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews

* Performing design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, performance, and structural/thermal benefits

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in an Engineering related field, or equivalent combined associates degrees

The preferred candidate shall have a sound Engineering / Technical foundation and be able to grasp complex issues quickly

Skilled at creating and releasing part and assembly models and detailed drawings using Creo (Pro Engineer) and Windchill

Experience creating drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.100 standards

Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5.

Capable of performing complex, precision optical tolerance analyses of housings, lenses.

Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic, inclusive, team environment

Limited Travel as necessary

Proficiency of Adobe Acrobat, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

Detail and process oriented.

Desired

Skills:

Familiarity with optics, sensor, and/or integrated optical systems.

Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework:
The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
