Overview
The pay range for this position is $28 to $34 per hour. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting electrical systems and components to meet company and customer requirements. This role ensures systems are safe, reliable, and cost-effective while supporting ongoing operations, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical systems, circuits, and components for equipment and facilities
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
- Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical systems
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for system failures
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and engineering
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations (NEC, OSHA, ASME, etc.)
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and cost performance
- Assist with vendor selection, equipment specifications, and procurement support
- Support preventive maintenance programs and reliability initiatives
- Provide technical support for production and field issues as needed
Education
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field required
Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in electrical engineering or similar role
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or facilities environments preferred
- Microprocessor / microcontroller hardware design and programming
- C++ and /or Assembly languages
- PC interfaces: USB/Serial
- Printed Circuit Boards using Protel, Kicad, etc.
- Experience in Excel / Word - producing technical / procedure documents
- Some Experience in:
- Electronics, Analog / Digital
- Protocol Communications
- Proficiency in electrical design and schematic software (AutoCAD Electrical, Solid Works Electrical, or similar)
- Strong understanding of:
- Power distribution systems
- Control systems (PLCs, VFDs a plus)
- Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, ASME) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Effective communication and teamwork
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Combination of office and field/plant environment
- May require walking, standing, and working around equipment
