Description:
Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support development and production of a missile system. What You Will Be Doing:
As the Mechanical Engineering Designer Staff, you will be responsible for supporting the Integrated Product Team in creating detailed designs, layouts, and drawings for various components and subassemblies. You will play a key role in developing and generating CREO layouts, detailed drawings, and design documentation, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams. Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM Coordinating the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, optics, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence Managing drawing releases, responding to CRs, generating CN's, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews Performing design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, performance, and structural/thermal benefits
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering from an accredited university. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant industry. Proficient in Computer Aided Design (CREO Preferred). Active development of new mechanical design engineering principles and full demonstrated knowledge of industry practices and related disciplines. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and demonstrated perform complex system-level tolerance analysis.
Open to travel up to 25% of the time. Desired
Skills:
Hands-on experience with machining, rapid prototyping, or lab equipment (CNC, 3-D printers, test rigs)
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with Model-Based Definition (MBD).
Experience with aerospace hardware such as structures, optical or radio frequency (RF) sensors, energetics, propulsion, or flight control systems. Comprehensive understanding of aerospace systems lifecycle from proposal and capture efforts, development, transition to production, production, and sustainment. Security Clearance Statement:

The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
