Transactions Consultant The Opportunity
The successful candidate will contribute to technical due diligence engagements for multiple types of assets, including but not limited to renewable energy, conventional generation, oil & gas, transmission, water, and new energy projects (such as hydrogen, ammonia, carbon capture, and renewable fuels) on behalf of lenders and investors. Initially serving in a supporting role to a multi‑disciplinary team of Independent Engineering and Technical Due Diligence consultants, this key role involves collecting and analyzing data, developing technical assessment reports, conducting site visits, maintaining client contacts, and progressing toward overall project management responsibilities over time.

- Enhance established working relationships with team members and client management.
- Contribute to quality reviews on own engagement.
- Ascertain and meet client expectations within the scope of the engagement.
- Develop applicable knowledge bases using best practices to redefine tools and techniques.
- Outline performance measures, targets, and goals to articulate the business case for realized efficiencies or added value.
- Contribute to multiple projects concurrently.
- Translate analyses into written reports and presentations.
- Demonstrate solid working knowledge of conventional generation, oil & gas, transmission, water, and renewable energy technologies such as solar PV, wind, and battery energy storage.
- Leverage experience with plant engineering and design, inspections, outage assessment, budget processes, equipment condition assessment, capital project assessment, reliability/availability assessment, field observations, performance assessment, and financial analysis.
- Utilize specialized knowledge to produce moderately complex work products across engagement phases.
- Apply appropriate methods or recognized equivalents to client needs.
- Anticipate and resolve technical problems with occasional guidance from others.
- Develop, present, and defend conclusions, recommendations, and implementation plans.
- Analyze and apply best practices in the relevant industry.
- Act as an individual contributor.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- At least 4 years of experience in a business/consulting environment.
- An engineering or other technical degree preferred; financial, economic or MBA degrees considered if supported by relevant experience.
- General knowledge of the complete transaction engagement and due diligence lifecycle.
- Business development capability.
- Advanced technical or industry knowledge, including power generation experience (e.g., plant operations, engineering, consulting, or management).
- Solid working knowledge of conventional generation, oil & gas, transmission, water, and renewable energy technologies.
- Experience with consulting processes.
- Strong human‑relations skills, including collaboration and team functions.
- Ability to operate multiple software packages.
- Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a business/consulting environment.
- Must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search) in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Certifications related to area of expertise, where applicable, are preferred.
Hybrid in BV office 3 days per week with up to 25% travel.
