We are seeking an emerging Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer who will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and IRADs within Missiles and Fire Control. GNC Engineer tasks include:

* Design, integrate, and test GNC, tracking, and/or servo control algorithm solutions for missile and fire control products

* Develop, verify, and validate both complex models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations (6-DOF) and effects-based simulations

* Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements

* Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities

Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities

* Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers

Basic Qualifications:

* Candidate must have a Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or similar

* Candidate must have demonstrated the ability to perform one or more of the following Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) or Modeling and Simulation (M&S) assignments based on completed course work or professional experience:
* - Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms
* - Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations
* - Demonstrate experience in one or more of the following languages: C++, Matlab, Python
* - Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations

* Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Desired

Skills:

* Prefer candidates with master's degree in related discipline

* Proficiency with Linux

* Ability to perform preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses

* Experience designing and analyzing target tracking and terrestrial navigation systems

* Experience with optimal state estimation filters such as extended Kalman filters (EKF)

* Demonstrated skills in probability, statistics, and Design of Experiments (DOE)

* Experience with Model-based systems engineering (MBSE)

* Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years
