GeneralJob Summary
The engineering technician will have knowledge of aero gas turbine or turbopump assembly and related activities. Demonstrated ability to work developmental prototype assembly and test activities.
Essential Job Functions- Planning and execution of assembly of experimental aero gas turbines and pre‑production rocket turbopumps.
- Plan tool and equipment requirements for assembly and test operations as well as maintain tool inventory.
- Review of assembly plans during the design phase.
- Assembly of aero gas turbines ranging in size from 200 lb‑thrust to 40,000 lb‑thrust.
- Documentation of all assembly steps, measurements, and deviations.
- Materials movement using overhead cranes and fork truck.
- Use of calibrated measurement instruments: calipers, height gages, micrometers, torque wrenches.
- Conduct preventative maintenance for the facility and major equipment.
- Assist in facility audits of maintenance and equipment condition.
- Update the interface control document for the Test and Assembly facilities as needed.

Education and Experience- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- 5 or more years progressive experience in developmental gas turbine assembly and test environment.
- A & P certificate optional.
Physical Requirements
- Work performed in a combination of office and lab environment.
- Some light physical effort required.
- Will be required to perform occasional lifting of light materials.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend and move about the facility.
- When required in designated lab areas.
