Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire in Orlando, FL is seeking an experienced Integration, Test, and Evaluation (IT&E) Engineer to support missile and sensor development programs. Your role will support the test series leading up to flight testing.
What You Will Be DoingThe selected IT&E Engineer will lead subsystem and system-level integration and testing, use test equipment during missile processing, and prepare test-related documentation. The engineer will lead a team in planning and executing development, qualification, and integration test efforts at subsystem and missile levels, oversee construction and testing of mockup and live ordnance flight test missiles, and report to the program IT&E Lead.
Responsibilities include communicating technical status and issues to program and functional leadership, coordinating with cross‑functional teams and facilities to meet program requirements, and traveling to Lockheed Martin, supplier, and customer facilities as necessary.
- Lead a diverse team of IT&E engineers responsible for cost, schedule, and technical execution.
- Develop, prepare, and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures.
- Support technical interchange meetings, customer design reviews, test readiness reviews, and pre‑ship reviews.
- Act as LM interface to the customer test team and ensure on‑time delivery of work products.
- Provide troubleshooting leadership, identify root causes, and develop corrective actions for technical build problems.
- Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce defects and increase repeatability, efficiency, and throughput of test operations.
- Maintain configuration management of all documentation.
- Coordinate with software, hardware, RF, electrical, and mission‑operations teams to resolve integration issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and serve as subject‑matter expert in missile integration and test.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or related engineering discipline and 9+ years of professional experience.
- Experience applying systems engineering and software development processes to design, develop, integrate, test, and verify complex systems.
- Previous product development, integration, verification, and validation experience.
- Minimum of 5 years in an IT&E leadership role.
- Team leadership and cost account management experience.
- Experience with the SETR process, including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and PSRR.
- Active Secret Clearance required; clearance required to start.
- Experience with complex electrical systems and RF test.
- Solid rocket motor experience.
- Laboratory system integration and test or hardware‑in‑the‑loop experience.
- Ground and flight test activities on military products.
- Development of test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Experience with data bus standards such as MIL‑STD‑1553 and MIL‑STD‑1760.
- Instrumentation and data capture expertise (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multimeters, matrix switch cards, PXIe instruments, power distribution systems).
- Data analysis using MATLAB or Python and telemetry processing.
- Management of configured products for test including Safety of Flight systems.
- Probabilistic, statistical, and mathematical modeling skills.
- Working experience in classified or access‑controlled facilities.
- Technical schematic, drawing, software spec, and manual interpretation skills.
- Requirements and bug tracking using DOORS and JIRA.
- Electrical design, maintenance, and troubleshooting knowledge.
- RF equipment integration and testing.
- RF test equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes).
- Configuration and data management of hardware and software.
- Master’s degree in related discipline (preferred).
- Willingness to travel to government test sites and remote locations for extended periods.
This position requires U.S. citizenship and a Secret Security Clearance. The candidate must have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance; a Secret Clearance is required to start.
