Overview
Kimley-Horn is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join the Orlando, FL office. This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities- Project Management role is in conjunction with lead engineer responsibilities.
- Ability to oversee the HVAC design of projects from concept to completion, including continuous interface with the design team and clients.
- Write responses to Requests for Proposals and Requests for Qualifications for various clients and marketing opportunities.
- Mentor and coordinate the work of designers and other technical staff on various mechanical or multi-discipline projects.
- Manage and deliver tasks under minimal supervision and guidance.
- This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team of engineers and designers on a variety of projects.
- You will flourish on both building meaningful internal and external professional relationships.
- You will work closely and collaboratively with other industry leading professionals, various jurisdictions, and contractors.
- 4+ years of related experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
- Proven design experience with comfort and HVAC systems and related controls.
- Proven design experience with plumbing systems including water, sewer, and gas.
- Experience producing engineering and energy studies including comcheck, Title 24.
- Experience mentoring and coordinating the work of EITs, designers, and other technical staff on various mechanical or multi-discipline projects.
- Able to manage and deliver tasks under minimal supervision and guidance.
- Experience in AutoCAD and Revit is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking ability.
- Ability to work individually or in a multi-discipline team.
