Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Provide technical support for the Sales organization and liaison between the site team and engineering in the ITO (Inquiry to Order) phase of Standby Generator Projects.
  • Travel to customer job sites to conduct technical specification reviews and data collection for engineering solutions.
  • Develop job costing to support pricing and execution of the project scope.
  • Analyze customer requirements and develop technical solutions for standby generator systems (diesel, natural gas, hybrid).
  • Assist with proposals, technical solution development, and interface with field engineers, providing customer insights and market intelligence.
  • Deliver technical expertise on Standby Generator stators, rotors, excitation systems, monitoring devices and peripheral components.
  • Oversee labor, crew members and contractors to maintain high‑quality service performance.
  • Conduct casual field engineering inspections and recommend possible services such as generator stator rewinding.
  • Support the risk process at the ITO stage with input on project costing, scope, schedule and execution risks.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable standards such as NFPA 70, NFPA 110, NEC and local codes.
  • Generate required reports, drawings and engineering calculations.
  • Identify product failures and lead root‑cause investigations.
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Licensed Engineer certification or eligibility (preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Standby Generator Services.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to manage a matrix team.
  • Ability to anticipate events and develop adaptive strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel 25–40% of the time.
  • Valid passport and driver’s license available or obtainable.
  • Knowledge of generator sizing, load analysis and power system design.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, utilization equipment, switch gear, relays, breakers, transformers, motors, generators, and variable speed drives.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with NFPA, NEC and other relevant codes.
