Position Overview
Entry Level Structural / Junior Engineer
Jacobs seeks an entry-level structural engineer to support the design of new multi‑building complexes and full‑scale renovations of historic structures. The role is primarily focused on federal delivery with expanding opportunities in the private sector.
Responsibilities- Perform increasingly complex structural calculations and analyses as design develops.
- Collaborate with Designers, Project Managers, and Professional Engineers to translate structural requirements to drawings and BIM models.
- Apply principles of analysis and design for vertical and lateral structural systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Manage own workload, meeting commitments on schedule, budget, and quality.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a clear emphasis on Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification.
- 0–3 years of relevant work experience.
- Hybrid work: required to work in the local office or project site a minimum of 2 days per week.
- Internet service with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps download/10 Mbps upload (higher speed recommended).
- MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering.
- Internship experience in Structural Engineering, preferably analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
- Experience with STAAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam.
- Familiarity with U.S. building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC.

CompensationBase salary range: $65,000.00 to $95,000.00, determined by work location and relevant experience and education.
