What You Will Be Doing
  • Design, develop, and deploy embedded algorithms that perform inertial tracking, inertial navigation and/or sensor fusion.
  • Develop, verify, and validate complex models and simulations that utilize match filters, convolutional neural networks and other techniques to detect targets of interest.
  • Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements.
  • Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities that support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware‑In‑The‑Loop (HWIL) activities.
  • Opportunity to join small teams of engineers and algorithm developers on a variety of programs in various stages of product development.
  • Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers.

Basic Qualifications
  • BS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, computer science, applied mathematics, or a similar STEM degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Interim Clearance is required to start, therefore you must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Candidate should be fluent in MATLAB, Python, and C++.
  • Candidate should have relevant experience or exposure to Navigation Algorithm Development, including inertial navigation, strapdown navigation, attitude and velocity keeping, advanced GPS signal processing, magnetic navigation, star‑tracking, visual navigation, covariance analysis, transfer alignment with a host platform, boresight/calibration modeling, and estimation.
  • Candidate should have relevant experience or exposure to Inertial Tracking Algorithm Development, including extended and unscented Kalman filtering, non‑linear state estimation, Gaussian mixture models, information filtering, particle filtering, multi‑hypothesis tracking, Bayesian inference, multi‑sensor fusion, passive sensing, stereo tracking, angle‑only tracking, feature‑aided tracking, image tracking, integrated multi‑model tracking, low‑SNR target tracking, inertial attitude and line‑of‑sight estimation, contextual data fusion, scene‑based event detection, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, object classification, kinematic and radiometric feature estimation, hypothesis testing, and Monte‑Carlo methods.
  • Have experience implementing and debugging GNC algorithms running in a real‑time environment and processing instrumented real‑time system data.
  • Candidate must be proficient in developing and validating C++ algorithm simulations and hardware models with real‑time data collections.
Desired Skills
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB.
  • Experience with linear algebra software packages.
  • Strong programming skills that can translate to C++ development in a Linux environment.
  • Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real‑time performance requirements.
  • Knowledge of electro‑optical/infrared detection technology, optics, and principles of radiometry.
  • Familiarity with clutter rejection techniques.
  • Knowledge and experience with modeling and simulation of EOIR systems.
Security Clearance Statement

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years.

Work Schedule

Onsite full‑time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Schedule for this position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
