Position Summary

The Crystal Process Engineering Technician supports the Crystal Engineering team by performing technical tasks related to crystal testing, equipment maintenance, process evaluation, and documentation. This role requires hands‑on involvement with multiple disciplines and contributes to ensuring the efficiency and reliability of crystal production processes.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Test various crystal products (e.g.: Filter crystals, discrete, monolithic, MRW versions, as well as round blank crystals).
  • Repair crystal process equipment and ensure equipment uptime.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks on key crystal processing equipment such as vacuum systems, pumps, and compressors.
  • Perform screening and qualification processes such as G-sensitivity, phase noise, vibration, shock, and thermal shock.
  • Create and update production documentation and procedures assigned.
  • Update production‑level equipment and test systems as required.
  • Collect data and work toward statistical evaluation of processes.

None.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Hands‑on role requiring collaboration across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with various hand tools.
  • Understanding of vacuum pumps, compressors, and related systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, and process data collection.
  • Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license.
Education, Experience and Training
  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in engineering technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 1‑3 years of technical experience is desired.
  • Hands‑on experience in crystal manufacturing, semiconductor processing, or precision equipment operation is highly desirable.
