We’re looking for an R&D Project Manager for Turbine Product Development! Join our team in Orlando to help shape the future of Siemens Energy gas turbines!
In this role, your day revolves around the technical development of a platform from big‑picture concepts to real‑world execution. You’ll serve as the cognizant engineer for both new gas turbine units and Modernizations & Upgrades (M&U), owning programs that directly impact product performance, reliability, and customer value.
Think of yourself as the connector and driver coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, service, and commercial teams to turn ideas into delivered solutions. You’ll help guide development decisions, support key technical negotiations, and ensure smooth implementation across the new unit and M&U product lines. We are not looking for core manufacturing, procurement, sourcing or supply management. To excel in this role, you must have a core background in Gas Turbines.

How You’ll Make an Impact- Execute R&D programs while meeting budget, timeline, and technical objectives.
- Lead multiple product development efforts: Partnering with marketing to develop product strategies, driving risk assessments and mitigation plans, program and roadmap planning, supporting business cases and investment decisions, managing the end‑to‑product development process, coordinating procurement, PPQ, and manufacturing support and overseeing product implementation and logistics.
- Support products once sold by: Finalizing product definitions and releasing hardware, creating Product Change Management (PCM) documentation, supporting commissioning, testing, and validation planning, developing customer‑facing technical documentation and instructions, providing technical expertise in marketing to support proposals for new units and Modernizations & Upgrades (M&U).
- Travel domestic and international approximately 10–15% to support customer meetings, site walk‑downs, vendor engagements, testing, and product implementation.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Gas turbines and closely related rotary equipment (including aerospace applications) with a primary focus on products or projects that include research and development (R&D).
- 5-8+ years of experience in cradle to grave product development and/or project management, preferably in a gas turbine development environment; understanding operational behavior and key performance/improvement levers; advanced degrees may be suitable. Candidates with greater experience may be considered at a higher level.
- Product development and executing R&D programs, ensuring delivery within defined budget, schedule, and technical objectives.
- Able to lead programs, communicate clearly, and build strong cross‑functional networks, backed by a solid engineering foundation.
- A strong grasp of gas turbine specific design highly preferred.
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
