Job DescriptionAn experienced Senior Civil Engineer Consultant will plan, design, and execute civil and utility infrastructure projects for a diverse range of clients. Projects include all phases of site development and power‑related infrastructure, such as wind farms, solar facilities, substations, transmission corridors, and industrial developments.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and manage civil engineering projects from concept through construction, including renewable energy and utility infrastructure.
- Coordinate with local municipalities, regulatory agencies, and utility providers to ensure compliance with zoning, permitting, and environmental regulations.
- Perform site evaluations, due diligence, and feasibility assessments for land development and energy infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, drainage reports, and permit submittals.
- Develop grading, drainage, access roads, and utility layouts for large‑scale developments and power generation facilities.
- Collaborate with project managers to define scope, schedules, and budgets.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful execution.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
- Deliver designs that meet safety standards, environmental requirements, and client expectations.
- Perform quality control reviews for contract deliverables.
- Coordinate with surveyors, environmental scientists, structural engineers, and electrical engineers for integrated delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with at least 10 years of relevant experience in site civil engineering.
- Experience with site development and/or utility infrastructure projects, including renewable energy (wind, solar) or transmission projects.
- Familiarity with permitting processes for both traditional development and energy/utility projects.
- Proven project and/or task management experience.
- Strong knowledge of site civil engineering principles – grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Civil3D (preferred) or similar site design software.
