Overview
We are seeking a Permit Coordinator to join our Environmental Sciences/Planning group based in Orlando, FL. The position supports projects for clients such as Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) and the General Engineering Consultant (GEC) Program and will act as an extension of staff in the client’s office in Ocoee, FL. The role focuses on environmental permitting for transportation infrastructure projects across Central and South Florida and offers career growth opportunities.
Responsibilities- Facilitate clients’ coordination with regulatory agencies to obtain environmental permits.
- Perform environmental project tasks for transportation projects and necessary documentation (NEPA, PD&E, wetlands, listed species, permitting).
- Coordinate with design professionals and project teams to represent the natural environment accurately on permit applications, reports, plans, and identify mitigation opportunities.
- Conduct field investigations of project sites.
- Document, analyze, and interpret data and prepare technical reports for state and federal agencies.
- Provide project assistance and technical expertise for transportation‑focused clients.
- BS/BA or MS in Environmental Sciences or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience since a bachelor’s degree or 7 years with a master’s degree.
- Strong organizational, task and time‑management, deductive reasoning, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
- Ability to make innovative recommendations to complex permitting requirements.
- Professional attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.

CompensationThe expected salary range is $82,200–$137,100 annually, depending on experience, skills, and location.
