Overview
Join Lockheed Martin’s Hardware Engineering team working on the Rotary Training Solutions Blackhawk simulator. The role focuses on leading hardware engineering activities, from design and procurement to manufacturing and supplier coordination, to deliver world‑class level‑D helicopter full‑flight simulators.
Responsibilities- Lead other Hardware Engineers and synchronize engineering, procurement, production planning, manufacturing, and suppliers to meet design schedules.
- Develop innovative solutions to complex problems aligned with program objectives.
- Serve as a member of the Integrated Product Team responsible for scope, cost, and schedule.
- Interface with cross‑functional teams and customer regularly to execute scope.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent combined experience.
- 5+ years of related hardware engineering experience.
- Active development of new mechanical design engineering principles and industry best practices.
- Experience issuing formal design checking approvals or non‑conformance reports through a PLM tool.
- Proficiency in creating CREO layouts, detailed drawings, and HW architectural layouts.
- Ability to derive Hardware and sub‑tier requirements from customer requirements.
- Experience building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation.
- Support cross‑functional teams through SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR reviews.
- Application of Hardware Engineering processes in an Agile environment.
- Communication of technical concepts to external stakeholders.
- Experience with Windchill, Creo, Catia, Zuken, and Cameo.
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GDT and complex system‑level tolerance analysis.
- Knowledge of generating hardware architecture, high‑level interconnects, and deriving requirements from customer and system level flowdowns.
- Experience in development, integration, and deployment of flight training systems.
- Applied Agile tenets in the development of software‑intensive systems, including Systems, Software, Hardware, and Test Engineering work products.
- Product design experience with modular open systems architectures (e.g., SOA).
- Experience with Rotary and/or Fixed Wing Aircraft or Training System Design.
- Experience with full‑motion simulators.
- Active Secret Security clearance or higher.
This position requires a government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is a requirement.
Travel10 – 20% domestic or international travel.
ShiftFirst shift, 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
