Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000 (depending on experience level), discretionary yearly bonus, and monthly phone allowance ($80/month)
OverviewWheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an Electrical Engineer PE I to support the design and development of mechanical systems across healthcare, higher education, and MEP infrastructure projects. This role involves hands‑on design, engineering analysis, and project execution, with the opportunity to grow into a leadership/management position. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in HVAC and mechanical systems, proficiency in Revit, and experience designing central plants, ductwork, and related systems.
Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical systems including HVAC, chillers, boilers, ductwork, and control systems
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints using Revit
- Analyze, evaluate, and optimize system performance and energy efficiency
- Support central plant and MEP infrastructure design projects
- Perform site visits and field assessments as needed
- Sign and seal engineering documents (as applicable based on licensure)
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, project managers, and clients
- Support project lifecycle including planning, design, and execution
- Analyze utility data and perform lifecycle cost analyses
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Electrical PE License
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 4+ Years of experience in electrical engineering and design
- Strong proficiency in REVIT
- Strong technical skills – familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Experience with design of Healthcare, Higher Education, and/or Central Energy Plant (CEP) electrical infrastructure projects
- Experience in design of medium voltage protection and power distribution systems
- Experience in design of paralleled generator systems at medium voltage and below
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter
- Critical thinking skills
- Detail‑oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside the scope of work when necessary
