The Ideal Candidate & Opportunity

A Florida licensed PE with existing professional experience working in a hands‑on environment with water/wastewater design. This individual must possess both technical expertise/knowledge as well as the skill level to utilize design tools to execute several project deliverables for our clients.

This is a great opportunity for a mid‑level licensed Project Engineer who is ready to make the jump to a full throttle role where you will have responsibilities supporting water/wastewater design, project management, client management, and client relations.

Specifically, we will be particularly interested in candidates who have recently started to sign and seal projects, and this will be an area of growth focus in duty and responsibility for this position. This opportunity will actively position you for immediate organizational impact with our team, clients, and projects.

General

Position Overview

Project Engineer
- Water/Wastewater (Engineer III) is responsible for leading the design, development, and the implementation of engineering projects. This role provides innovative solutions to solve any problems, and it requires design skills, time management and experience to perform on a variety of Water/Wastewater and general public facility. The Project Engineer III has a strong understanding of engineering principles to deliver high-quality standards to CPH clients.

What

You’ll Do
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of engineering solutions for projects.
  • Create and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Monitor progress of projects and make adjustments as needed to ensure proper completion.
  • Leading design and preparation of plans, specifications, and calculations for pipeline, lift station, and Water/Wastewater treatment, system components.
  • Work with senior staff to identify potential project risks and develop modification strategies if needed.
  • Ensures that all aspects of the project’s safety comply with regulations and quality standards.
  • Prepares and maintain project documentation, including reports, design changes, schedules, and status updates.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to upper managements and clients.
What You’ll Need
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook and familiarity with Deltek Vision and Smartsheet or similar software platforms.
  • Ability to exercise critical thinking and good independent judgement.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi‑task and work on multiple projects while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
  • Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self‑motivated.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil or Environmental).
  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, in one or more of the following: pipeline, lift station, Water/Wastewater treatment design.
  • P.E. required.
