Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) – Utilities Division
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and licensed Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) to lead and grow our surveying operations in Central Florida. This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced survey professional with a strong background in utility, boundary, topographic, and construction surveying.
The ideal candidate is a Florida-licensed PSM with 8–10+ years of progressive experience who is excited about building, mentoring, and managing a high-performing survey team while supporting the continued growth of the company.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and oversee all aspects of survey projects from proposal through final deliverables.
- Direct and mentor field crews, office technicians, and future survey personnel.
- Develop and expand the survey department, including hiring, training, and establishing best practices.
- Review, certify, and sign survey documents in accordance with Florida Board standards.
- Coordinate boundary, topographic, as-built, route, right-of-way, utility, and construction surveys.
- Lead utility mapping and related survey efforts to support engineering and construction projects.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with Florida Statutes, survey standards, and client specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering, utility, and construction teams to deliver accurate and timely survey data.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing, and client communications.
- Support business development efforts by cultivating client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
- Implement efficient workflows, technology, and surveying best practices to support company growth.
- Current Florida Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) License (Required).
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 8–10 years of professional land surveying experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing utility and infrastructure survey projects.
- Strong knowledge of:
Boundary surveys, Topographic surveys, Utility surveys, Construction staking, Right-of-way surveys - Florida Minimum Technical Standards
- Experience supervising survey crews and office personnel.
- Proficiency with survey software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, Micro Station, or similar platforms.
- Experience with GPS, robotic total stations, terrestrial laser scanning, and modern survey technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid Florida driver's license.
- Experience growing or managing a survey department.
- Background supporting utility, municipal, transportation, or civil infrastructure projects.
- Business development and client relationship experience.
