Role Overview

The Rotor Product Line Manager (PLM) – manages the strategic and commercial lifecycle of rotor‑related product offerings across the heavy‑duty gas turbine and steam turbine fleet. This role is responsible for defining and executing product strategies that improve reliability, availability, manufacturability, and lifecycle cost, while ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives. The PLM works cross‑functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, and Service teams to develop and commercialize rotor solutions that drive growth, profitability, and fleet performance.

The ideal candidate for this role brings a combination of deep technical understanding of turbine rotors and strong product management acumen, with the ability to translate engineering realities into commercially successful solutions. They are comfortable operating in high value decision environments, while possessing a working knowledge of rotor behavior under high temperature and stress conditions, key failure mechanisms such as fatigue, creep, fracture mechanics and structural life assessment.

Equally important, they have a strong appreciation for design for manufacturability, including forging, machining, inspection, and repair processes, along with awareness of inspection and refurbishment techniques such as NDT, weld repair, and coatings. Beyond technical depth, this individual understands the broader business context—how rotor decisions impact reliability, availability, performance, and lifecycle cost—and can effectively balance technical risk with cost and commercial value, partnering across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams to deliver solutions that win in the market and perform in the field.

Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management
  • Develop and execute the multi‑frame rotor product roadmap, including upgrades, repairs, and lifecycle extension strategies
  • Define product positioning, priorities, and investment decisions based on fleet data, technical risks, market needs, and financial performance
  • Lead lifecycle decisions, including enhancements, redesigns, and end‑of‑life strategies
Technical Leadership
  • Translate rotor engineering insights into product requirements and value propositions
  • Ensure alignment between design intent, manufacturability, and field execution
  • Support technical assessment of risks, failure modes, and mitigation strategies
Manufacturing and Supply Chain Integration
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Supply Chain to ensure rotor solutions are manufacturable at scale, cost‑effective, and schedule‑aligned
  • Delivered with required quality standards
  • Support development of strategic suppliers and repair capabilities
Market Research and Competitive Analysis
  • Conduct market research using S&P Global Capital IQ, conduct competitive benchmarking, and gather customer insights to inform product strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Market Intelligence Team (MIS) to deliver market intelligence insights throughout organization.
  • Communicate market trends, opportunities, and threats to internal stakeholders to facilitate informed, data driven business decisions.

  • Manage financial aspects including budgeting, sales forecasting, product pricing evaluations, and cost control measures.
  • Regularly monitor product profitability and implement strategies…
