Operations Management
A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Project Engineering Manager at Siemens Energy, you have full Ownership of all Engineering disciplines in the bid phase for power plants within the business area Gas Services.
You will lead and manage, in a project management capacity, a diverse team of Engineering Resources across disciplines such as electrical, plant layout, mechanical, civil, process, thermal, controls, and instrumentation, during the complete bid phase.
After aligning the bid strategy within the Bid Management Team, you will be part of discussions with the Customer’s Engineering Consultant and with your Team to clarify and refine the project specifics.
Following this, you will lead the Engineering Team and partners throughout all proposal phases, including but not limited to a design and scope review, design works, alignment of the sourcing and procurement strategy for the proposal, cost calculation etc., ensuring detailed coordination between disciplines and full compliance with the project requirements.
In addition, you are responsible to steer meetings with all team members to ensure strict adherence to project scope, schedule, and cost.
Occasionally it may be required to visit the customer and or the proposed site and discuss with the customer and/or his consultant to ensure that the engineering concepts for the proposal are in line with the project boundaries and matching the cost calculation to ensure highly competitive bids.
