DRMP is seeking an experienced Stormwater/Water Resources Engineer with a strong background in hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling, HEC-RAS, and stormwater design. The ideal candidate has experience delivering drainage and floodplain studies, bridge hydraulic (BHR) analyses, permitting, and design.

Department:
Civil/Municipal

Location:

You’ll lead stormwater projects from early planning through design, permitting, and construction support. This is a strong opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex water-resource challenges, working directly with clients and agencies, and mentoring emerging talent.

This role is an in-office role.

Why DRMP

At DRMP, you’ll work on infrastructure that protects communities, improves mobility, and supports sustainable growth. You’ll have room to take ownership, build client relationships, deepen your technical expertise, and help develop the next generation of engineers.

Your Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of stormwater management projects.
  • Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models and translate findings into practical, buildable solutions.
  • Design drainage systems, storm sewers, detention and retention facilities, and green-infrastructure solutions.
  • Prepare construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and permit documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with clients, contractors, project teams, and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct site assessments and field investigations to inform design decisions.
  • Bring sustainable, low-impact-development approaches into project solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Contribute to proposals, presentations, and client relationships.
What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant stormwater, drainage, or water-resources engineering experience.
  • Strong experience performing hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analyses and modeling for stormwater and drainage projects. Proficiency with HEC-RAS (1D/2D) is required, including bridge hydraulic (BHR) analyses, bridge and culvert hydraulics, floodplain evaluations, and FEMA/FDOT/local agency studies. Experience with Storm Wise, EPA SWMM, ICPR, and AutoCAD Civil 3D is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of stormwater regulations, permitting, and agency coordination.
  • Strong analytical judgment, communication skills, and project-management instincts.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while collaborating across disciplines.
  • Florida PE license preferred.
