HDR is hiring a Site Civil Engineer to support our Orlando and Tampa offices. Primary responsibilities include leading site civil engineering design efforts for buildings, facilities, and infrastructure projects across diverse market sectors, including residential, commercial, and industrial developments; water/wastewater systems; municipal and federal projects; and power and data center facilities. You will serve as the Civil Engineer of Record when required, collaborate closely with multidisciplinary design teams throughout all project phases—from initial planning through construction documentation and administration, prepare detailed construction drawings, technical specifications, engineering calculations and reports, and manage permitting processes with federal, state, and local agencies.

You will also review shop drawings and provide support during the construction phase.

Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited university, minimum of 4 years of experience in site civil/land development design for buildings or infrastructure, including demolition, erosion control, site layout, stormwater management, grading and drainage, utility design, proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ICPR/Stormwise, WaterCAD, and StormCAD, ability to work independently and collaboratively within fast-paced, multidisciplinary teams, capability of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and highly organized, self-motivated, and proactive with strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality, technically sound designs with minimal supervision.

Experience serving as Engineer of Record on previous projects, proposal writing experience, project management experience, and prior experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm are also preferred. Preference is given to local candidates.

Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree, previous experience in general civil engineering, a professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered, demonstrated leadership and communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, good verbal and written communication skills, and an attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
