Jacobs is seeking a motivated Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Technician to support our facilities operations team in Orlando, Florida
. In this role, you will perform scheduled route-based data collection using vibration, infrared (IR), ultrasonic (airborne/leak survey), and ultrasonic lubrication techniques (Grease Caddy). Collect accurate field data, update designated spreadsheets/databases, and hand off all analysis work to the Reliability Engineer.

  • No diagnostic analysis, fault diagnosis, or recommendation development is performed by this role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Route Execution & Data Collection
  • Execute assigned predictive maintenance routes according to the established schedule and route plans.
  • Collect vibration data (route-based measurements with portable analyzers) following defined measurement points, orientations, and procedures.
  • Perform infrared thermography surveys on designated equipment (motors, bearings, electrical panels, process equipment, etc.) using approved IR cameras and following safety and measurement protocols.
  • Conduct ultrasonic airborne surveys leak detection using ultrasonic instruments.
  • Perform ultrasonic lubrication activities (grease application guided by ultrasonic feedback where applicable) per route instructions and lubrication standards.
  • Ensure all measurements are taken under the correct operating conditions (when possible).
  • Data Management & Spreadsheet Updates
  • Download, transfer, and organize collected data (vibration files, IR images/reports, ultrasonic readings) into the designated systems or shared folders.
  • Update assigned spreadsheets, databases, or work-order systems with
    • Collection dates and times
    • Measurement values/readings
    • Equipment status notes
    • Any observations of abnormal conditions, access problems, or safety issues
    • Confirmation that the route was completed
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete records so the Reliability Engineer can perform analysis without needing to re-collect or clarify basic data.
  • Flag any obvious data quality issues (poor signal, sensor problems, missing points) in the spreadsheet notes for the Reliability Engineer.
  • Handoff to Reliability Engineer
  • Promptly notify or transfer completed route data and updated spreadsheets to the Reliability Engineer after each route or per the defined schedule.
  • Provide clear, factual field notes only (no interpretation or diagnosis).
  • Support follow-up requests from the Reliability Engineer by clarifying collection details or re-collecting specific points when needed (under direction).
  • Equipment Care & Preparation
  • Maintain, charge, calibrate (as trained), and properly store vibration analyzers, IR cameras, ultrasonic instruments, and related accessories.
  • Perform basic pre-use checks and report instrument problems or calibration due dates to supervision.
  • Ensure proper use of sensors, mounts, contact tools, and safety accessories.
  • Continuous Improvement Support
  • Suggest practical improvements to routes (access issues, missing points, better measurement locations) based on field experience.
  • Assist with route creation or updates when directed (adding points, updating asset lists in spreadsheets).
  • Participate in required training on instrument operation, data collection best practices, and safety.
