Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer to join a development team delivering FAA Level D Full Flight Simulators
. The engineer will be responsible for hardware design, development, system integration, and technical coordination across engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and suppliers.
- Design and develop hardware for power and control systems, motion platforms, visual display systems, avionics interfaces, and ancillary equipment
. - Lead end-to-end integration of simulator hardware with existing facility infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical distribution, grounding, and fire/smoke monitoring systems
. - Develop hardware architectures and high-level interfaces between systems and subsystems.
- Derive hardware and sub-tier requirements from customer and system-level requirements.
- Create CREO layouts and detailed drawings for components, assemblies, sub-assemblies, ICDs, and integration test articles.
- Develop BOMs, parts, assemblies, and engineering documentation.
- Process formal design approvals and non-conformance reports through the PLM system.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, production planning, manufacturing, and suppliers to meet program schedules.
- Support major technical reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR
. - Apply Hardware Engineering processes within an Agile development environment
. - Develop solutions to complex system-level hardware and integration challenges.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field
. - Experience developing flight simulation hardware solutions
. - Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical design engineering principles and industry practices.
- Experience with CREO layouts and detailed engineering drawings.
- Experience developing hardware architectures and system/subsystem interfaces.
- Experience deriving hardware requirements from customer/system-level requirements.
- Experience creating BOMs, parts, assemblies, and design documentation
. - Experience supporting cross-functional teams through technical design reviews.
- Experience working with Hardware Engineering processes in an Agile environment
.
- Experience with Windchill, Creo, CATIA, Zuken, and/or Cameo
. - Knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5.
- Experience performing complex system-level tolerance analysis.
- Experience with hardware architecture, interconnects, and requirements flow-down.
- Experience developing, integrating, and deploying flight training systems
. - Experience with full-motion simulators
. - Experience with rotary-wing and/or fixed-wing aircraft
. - Experience integrating hardware with existing climate-control systems.
- Experience interfacing with facility fire detection and suppression systems.
- Experience with modular open systems architectures (SOA).
- Experience working across Systems, Software, Hardware, and Test Engineering teams in an Agile environment.
