Manufacturing Engineer
PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will focus on translating complex engineering blueprints into clear work instructions and improving manufacturing processes through automation and advanced technologies. The role will also support root cause corrective action and Lean Six Sigma improvement projects.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Engineering, or related discipline
- At least 3 years of experience writing technical work instructions
- At least 3 years of experience with detailed knowledge of GD&T
- At least 3 years of experience with SAP
- At least 3 years of experience with Lean Six Sigma manufacturing concepts and techniques
- At least 3 years of experience working with electromechanical and/or optical assemblies
- At least 3 years of experience with Creo/ProE, with a focus on tool design
- At least 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing floor environment
- At least 3 years of experience with RCCA investigations on complex failure modes
- At least 3 years of experience with process improvement using automation insertions
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance
- Ability to work D-shift, 4x10 Thursday–Sundays
What You'll Do
- Create comprehensive work instructions from engineering drawings and parts lists
- Implement automation and advanced technologies to enhance build efficiency
- Lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) and Lean Six Sigma improvement projects
- Develop process improvements that lower cost, increase quality, and accelerate delivery
