Role Overview

The Gas Turbine Fluid Systems Engineer III is responsible for the design, analysis, and lifecycle support of gas turbine auxiliary systems for Mitsubishi and non-OEM units, including gas, oil, air, hydrogen, steam, and water systems. This intermediate-level engineering role supports existing fielded systems, develops modifications to resolve operational issues, and designs new systems for blended hydrogen fuels, emissions control, alternate fuels, power augmentation, and turndown applications.

The position combines process, piping, equipment, controls, commissioning, and project engineering responsibilities across the full project lifecycle while contributing to safe, repeatable fluid system improvements that support the transition to a net-zero carbon future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the design and development of auxiliary systems for gas turbines in accordance with established standard operating procedures.
  • Perform feasibility, front-end engineering design, and detailed engineering studies.
  • Specify vendor requirements for pumps, valves, compressors, heat exchangers, skids, instrumentation, pipe supports, and related components while ensuring compliance with codes, contracts, and internal standards.
  • Prepare process engineering calculations and supporting technical documentation.
  • Analyze flow networks using AFT Arrow and AFT Fathom.
  • Develop and interpret Process Flow Diagrams and P&IDs using Smart Plant P&.
  • Prepare piping engineering calculations and documentation.
  • Use 3D piping design tools such as PDS, PDMS, Smart Plant 3D, or Creo Piping to develop system layouts and routing.
  • Use 3D laser scan data to support new designs and avoid clashes.
  • Perform or review pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II and/or AutoPIPE.
  • Analyze and select pipe supports and apply piping materials and class requirements.
  • Prepare plot plans, piping arrangements, isometrics, construction drawings, and spool drawings for field and shop fabrication.
  • Support Hazard and Operability Studies.
  • Interpret ASME B31.1, B31.3, and B31.12 requirements and ensure piping code requirements are incorporated into designs and vendor specifications.
  • Prepare Bills of Materials, installation documentation, operator manuals, and training materials.
  • Provide site support for operator training, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.
