As a Project Engineer – Nuclear Uprate at Siemens Energy, you will play a key role in delivering steam turbine upgrade projects that enhance the performance, reliability, and efficiency of nuclear power plants. Working directly with customers and collaborating closely with engineering, project management, manufacturing, and field teams, you will help ensure projects are successfully executed from concept through installation. In this role, you will translate complex engineering designs into practical field execution plans, evaluate installation strategies, identify and mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with nuclear quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, working across diverse teams, and contributing to high-visibility projects that support the future of reliable and sustainable energy.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Support the successful execution of complex nuclear uprate projects across engineering, manufacturing, and project execution phases.
• Provide expert oversight for upgraded nuclear power plant equipment, including turbines, generators, and related systems.
• Plan and participate in regular project reviews, ensuring quality and adherence to schedules and contractual obligations through factory testing and customer engagements.
• Track engineering, manufacturing, and commissioning milestones for uprate contracts, proactively identifying and resolving potential risks.
• Work closely with the SEI Major Projects Group Project Manager to align engineering, installation planning, and manufacturing activities for seamless project execution.
• Create training materials and lead sessions to prepare field service engineers and project managers for the complexities of uprate projects, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or equivalent industry experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years of experience in the Power Generation Industry, with a preference for nuclear uprate experience.
• Proven experience in Field Service, Project Management, or Engineering roles.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience in creating presentations and briefings for management.
• Strong understanding of component design and manufacturing processes, along with the ability to develop tooling to support installation.
• Must be able to pass a security background check for access to US Nuclear power plants
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
