Job Title

Design and build Entertainment show props and elements. At the direction of Management, create models and drawings with 3D modeling/design programs and software. Turn concept artwork into functional show props. Use knowledge of 3D printing processes and materials to create rapid prototypes for demonstrations and concept meetings. Participate in design meetings and brainstorming sessions. Other responsibilities include sculpting, mold making, casting, pigmentation, painting, working with silicone, urethane, latex, airbrush techniques, and materials such as hair, feather, and fur.
MajorResponsibilities
- Prepare drawings from existing concept art, modify existing drawings or layouts, and present ideas to the team.
- Develop color boards, models, and novel concept solutions while maintaining design intent.
- Program and operate rapid prototyping equipment such as 3D printers, CNC machines, and laser cutting to quickly create working props for demonstrations, concept meetings, and park use.
- Fabricate and repair various props and molds using appropriate techniques, materials, and processes.
- Properly assess, mix, and apply airbrush and/or faux paint techniques, automotive paint applications, as well as wet/dry brush and sponge painting. Include preparation of work for painting or finishing.
- Ensure proper completion of documentation related to work performed and update material information and repair logs.
- Use basic mechanical and carpentry skills, employing various tools for the repair and/or modification of molds, figures, and props. Maintain equipment, tools, supplies, and keep the workstation and area clean.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
- Perform routine inspections of Entertainment Show props and elements, including handheld props and set pieces.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree (AA) preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university in a related field preferred.
- For Tech I and II: 6‑10 years’ experience in maintaining and repairing scenic elements and Entertainment show props.
- For Tech III: 2‑4 years’ experience in maintaining and repairing scenic elements and Entertainment show props.
- Experience with painting and airbrush techniques: 6‑10 years for Tech I/II, 3‑6 years for Tech III.
- Experience with 3D and design programs: 5‑8 years for Tech I/II, 3‑5 years for Tech III.
- Equivalency of education and experience accepted where applicable.
- Valid Florida driver’s license required.
